For the Realme 8i, the Realme UI 3.0 x Android 12 Open Beta is now available

Realme has stated on its community forum that the company has now rolled out the Realme UI 3.0 x Android 12 update for more Realme 8i users via the Open Beta program starting on May 27th, after several months of the Early Access program announced back in March 2022.

Unlike the Early Access program, there is no limit on how many Realme 8i users can join the Open Beta for the Realme UI 3.0 x Android 12 Open Beta. The most recent Open Beta version has been selected by Realme as the stable version and will be made available to all users, the company has also stated (after the Open Beta programme ends). If you’ve previously signed up for Open Beta, it makes no difference.

If you own a Realme 8i and are interested in participating in the program, please follow the following steps:

Make sure you have the latest version installed: RMX3151 11.A.41

Applicant must submit an application through the Software Update Application channel (Settings>SoftwareUpdate>Tap on the settings icon in the upper right corner>Trial Version>Submit your details>Apply Now).

If the program passes the review, you’ll get the latest version.

Following the Android 12 upgrade, Realme has received many reports of the following issues:

For the first time, the phone may take longer to start up, especially if you have many third-party applications installed.

A number of actions, such as application adaptation, background optimization, and security scanning, will be carried out by the system in order to optimize system efficiency and minimize potential safety risks.

Realme also tells people who want to join the open beta program that they should make a backup of their personal information before they do so, just in case something goes wrong.

A MediaTek Helio G96 processor was used in the Realme 8i when it was released in September 2021. It was initially released with the Realme UI 2.0 skin over Android 11 (Nougat).
