In India and Vietnam, Oppo F17 and A73 are receiving a stable ColorOS 12 update

Earlier this month, Oppo released beta versions of ColorOS 12 for the Oppo F17 and Oppo A73 in India and Vietnam. The stable release based on Android 12 is now being rolled out. But it looks like ColorOS12 customers who want to get the stable upgrade when it first comes out will have to fill out an application.

The official ColorOS 12 update is now available for the Oppo F17 in India and the Oppo A73 in Vietnam, according to an Oppo community post. According to the post, the upgrade is still in its infancy and will be rolled out in stages.

You may obtain the ColorOS 12 update by navigating to the Software Updates section in Settings if you have an eligible device. To register for the update, go to the Software Updates area and tap on the Settings kebab menu in the upper right corner. ColorOS 12 will be installed via an OTA update after you submit the application.

Please be aware that if the application quota is full, you will be forced to wait until the next round of rollout is conducted.

Before you apply for the update, read these “must-knows”:

  • Make a backup of your phone before updating it so that you don’t lose data because of incompatibility or something else.
  • The operating system will automatically perform a number of optimizations on your device when you upgrade. It could cause your smartphone to overheat, stutter, and deplete your battery at an alarming rate. After a successful update, we recommend that you turn off the screen and charge your device for the entire night. It’s also possible to keep using the device, and it will return to normal in a matter of days.
  • It’s possible that some third-party apps won’t work on Android 12. As a result, it’s possible that you won’t be able to update certain apps, or that doing so would cause technical problems like latency or crashes.
