About the Author
Since his teen years, Milton H. Bacheller Jr. has been interested in woodworking. He has spent over 30 years acquiring his personal collection of early woodworking tools. During the 1980s Bacheller became interested in marking gages. Not finding a comprehensive resource on American marking gages, he went to work to create one. Since his retirement in 1988 he has researched the makers of these gages, which has culminated in the publishing of this groundbreaking book.
