Product Description
A fantastic collection of action packed stories from the Warhammer 40,000 universe.
Three novellas of war and bloodshed in the Dark Imperium, where mankind stands on the brink of annihilation…
On the once-glorious shrine world of Chevreuse, the stalemate between Faithful and Defiler is broken when the Adeptus Astartes take to the field, and the Fulminators walk the Storm. Deep in the alien forests of Kallash, Mordian lives are fed to the meatgrinder of war to blunt the advance of a vast greenskin horde, until one hastily built medicae post is all that stands against the tide. And across the gulf of the void, the soulless Necrons pursue their inscrutable agendas, one that will see Nemesor Zahndrekh and Vargard Obyron test their bond, searching for what lurks in the darkness and what has become of those known only as ‘the Severed’…
About the Author
Danie Ware is the author of the novellas The Bloodied Rose, Wreck and Ruin and the short story ‘Mercy’, all featuring the Sisters of Battle. She lives in Carshalton, south London, with her son and two cats and has long-held interests in role-playing, re-enactment, vinyl art toys and personal fitness.
Edoardo Albert is a writer and historian specialising in the Dark Ages. He finds that the wars and cultures of the early Medieval period map very well on to the events of the 40th and 41st millenniums. His Black Library fiction includes ‘Green and Grey’ and the novella Lords of the Storm.
Nate Crowley is an SFF author and games journalist who lives in Walsall with his wife, daughter, and a cat he insists on calling Turkey Boy. He loves going to the zoo, playing needlessly complicated strategy games, and cooking incredible stews. Severed is his third story for Black Library, the others being ‘Empra’ and ‘The Enemy of My Enemy’.
Steve Lyons’ work in the Warhammer 40,000 universe includes the novellas Engines of War and Angron’s Monolith, the Imperial Guard novels Death World, Ice Guard and Dead Men Walking, and the audio dramas Waiting Death and The Madness Within. He has also written numerous short stories and is currently working on more tales from the grim darkness of the far future.
Thomas Parrott is the kind of person who reads RPG rule books for fun. He fell in love with Warhammer 40,000 when he was fifteen and read the short story ‘Apothecary’s Honour’ in the Dark Imperium anthology, and has never looked back. ‘Spiritus In Machina’ was his first story for Black Library, and he has since written ‘Salvage Rites’, ‘Fates and Fortunes’ and the novella Isha’s Lament.
