About the Author Rosa Kruse was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. She is the second eldest of nine children. Her mother inspired her love for reading. Rosa began teaching in 1975 and is now a reading interventionist for Alief ISD in Houston, Texas. Rosa has been married for 38 years to Jim Kruse and has two children and four beautiful grandchildren.
