The flashcards are excellent and a very useful addition to the book…It would be of immense value…to make the CD audible/playable that states and defines the words audibly.

As a text focusing exclusively on terminology, Ms. Okrent’s text is outstanding…I like the variety of exercises included in the text: the students would get a great deal of practice with the terms.

Most of the students I had when I taught with this book said they used those flashcards and that’s how they really learned the legal terms…The case application section was something I always assigned for each unit.

About the Author

Cathy J. Okrent, J.D., is a member of the New York State Bar and is admitted to the United States Supreme Court, as well as the Federal and State Courts of New York. Attorney Okrent has been a trial attorney and college professor. She has served as a state and county government attorney, hearing officer, and an employee relations manager. She is the author of three textbooks on Legal Terminology, Court Reporting, and Tort Law.
